Fairy Cave Quarry – Day Trip (May 2021)
By Tim Cooper
After lots of weather forecast consultation in the days preceding we eventually decided to risk the trip.We planned a late start to allow for drying out.

I met Pete N in the sunshine and we had a catch up chat and then wandered over to the Alpine Ridge area and tackled “Little Sweet Mersey Tunnel Affair” (S) and descended down the Alpine Ridge.
Peter Y then turned up via a rather complex and adventurous route, that he had best explain himself, after missing the main gate.
After a quick bite to eat we headed up “Cristel Wall” (VD) and then abseiled down after a few rope spaghetti incidents.

We then had another short break before moving onto “Bishop’s Move” (S) and continuing past the abseil point up the crux pitch of “Landslide Victory” (HS) and through the growing undergrowth to the top.

It then start to try and rain but Peter managed the route with a few struggles and shoes that where becoming very uncomfortable. The rain set in as we walked to the decent abseil so after returning to the quarry floor we packed up in the rain and left happy.
